Snakes
A snake is a reptile without legs. A reptile usually has scales, lays eggs, breathes air, and doesn't spend much time taking care of its babies. It is also cold-blooded, which means that its body doesn't stay the same temperature all the time.
Alligator Lizard
The discovery of the Southern Alligator Lizard resulted from collections made during the U.S.-Mexican Boundary Survey of the mid-1850s.
Desert Iguana
The Desert Iguana is a large, light colored lizard with a long tail. Its snout-vent length can measure almost six inches, and its tail nearly 1 1/2 times longer. It has a small, rounded head with large ear openings, and sturdy legs.
Southern Sagebrush Lizard
The Southern Sagebrush Lizard is a relatively small lizard, measuring up to 2 5/8 inches (snout-vent length). Dorsal ground colors include various shades of gray and brown, overlaid with blotches and crossbars. A black bar can usually be found on the shoulder
Speckled Rattlesnake
Most adult Speckled Rattlesnakes measure 24 to 30 inches in length. Some "giants" measuring almost 36 inches have been found.
