Along with the common flu that we humans are apt to contracting at least once a year, there is now a Canine Influenza strain making its unpleasant mark in certain parts of the United States. This said, we as humans do not usually associate any type of flu or cold with our animals, and due to this fact, we need to start making this association!
The Canine Influenza strain is said to have originated as an equine flu and has now made the transition to dogs. Nobody as of yet can pinpoint when and where the transition occurred, all we know is that it has occurred, and dogs are becoming infected!
Symptoms
The Canine Influenza strain presents similar to the human version of the flu:
- Nasal discharge
- Eye discharge
- Fever
- Sneezing
- Coughing
- Sleep Deprivation
